Culture of India


India is a very big country. There are 28 States and 8 Union Tertiaries. So, we can say that Indian culture, sometimes equated to Indian civilization which is the heritage of social norms, ethical values, traditional customs, beliefs, political systems and technologies.

India's languages, religions, dance, music, architecture, food and customs differ from place to place within the country. India is one of the most religiously and an ethnically diverse nation in the world,India is the birthplace of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, and other religions . They are collectively known as Indian religions.

Languages spoken in India


India has the world's fourth highest number of languages (427), after Nigeria (524), Indonesia (710) and Papua New Guinea (840).

Article 343 of the Indian constitution stated that the official language of India is Hindi in Devanagari script.

As per the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution consists of the following 22 languages which mostly speak by Indian’s are –Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Bodo, Santhali, Maithili and Dogri.
